Federal investigators arrested a man who they say left a propane tank outside a bank during a robbery, claiming it was a bomb.
Officials said Tarrell Nowlin, 40, is the man they were looking for, and has now been charged with robbery.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office bomb squad was called to investigate after a bank robbery on F.M. 2100 in Huffman on Friday.
Investigators said Nowlin walked into the Community Bank of Texas and demanded cash from the teller. He carried in a device with him and indicated it was an explosive.
When Nowlin left the scene, he left the device behind.
A deputy told KPRC Local 2 it was a propane tank.
Nowlin was arrested about ten miles away.
"Once he was leaving this scene, a witness described the vehicle to us. Between that and the bloodhound tracking device that was placed in the money, we were able to locate the suspect and take him into custody," said Captain Chris Adolf with the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
The FBI was also on the scene and their spokesperson confirmed they are investigating to see if Nowlin is linked to other bank robberies in the area that were done in a similar fashion.
