SUGAR LAND, Texas -

Sugar Land police are looking for two women who attacked and robbed two shoppers outside a Target store Monday night.

A woman and her daughter-in-law were walking to their car after shopping in the store on the Southwest Freeway at Highway 6 when they said they were approached by two women about 8:30 p.m.

The victims said the women sprayed both of them in the face with pepper spray and punched one of them in the face. The attackers got away with one purse and ran to a getaway car.

One of the victims is 76 years old. She said her life flashed before her eyes.

"I was terrified," said the woman who requested she not be identified. "I thought I was going to go blind. They punched me and made me drop to the floor."

Investigators said the attackers appeared to get into a black car being driven by a third person. Police said the car was seen driving around the parking lot and they believe the people inside were looking for someone to rob.

"Something like this would be very unusual," police spokesman Doug Adolf said.

The victims are expected to be OK. The 76-year-old suffered a scraped hand and bruised hip.

Anyone with information is asked to call Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at 281-342-TIPS.
