A woman has been accused of fatally shooting her common-law husband.

Debra Ann Norton, 45, has been charged with murder.

Houston police said Norton shot Charles Brown, 47, in the head in the 6300 block of Micollet on Jan. 13.

Brown was taken to Ben Taub Hospital, where he died on Jan. 27.

Norton was arrested without incident on Tuesday.

Detectives have not released the motive for the killing.
