Police said their search for a sex offender led them to a marijuana grow house in Dickinson.
Dickinson police said they'd been conducting an investigation on a registered sex offender, Jason Hale, 34, for about a month. Detectives said they figured out Hale was living at a home in the 3000 block of Crest Drive, which he hadn't told police about. The law requires sex offenders to register their place of residence with police.
Investigators said when they executed a search warrant at the home, they found an elaborate indoor marijuana grow operation hidden inside the home.
Police said they recovered 15 marijuana plants in various stages of growth, along with 10 seedlings. The raw weight of the marijuana was over 20 pounds, officials said.
Hale was arrested and charged with failure to comply with sex offender registration and felony possession of marijuana. He was being held in jail with bond set at $50,000.
Police said Brandi Hales, 34, was also arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana. Her bond was set at $5,000.
