Police: Serial robbers target auto shop
Suspect caught on tape, police say
Surveillance cameras were rolling at an automotive shop in north Houston as two men robbed the store.
Police said two men posing as customers walked into the store on Airline Drive just before closing time on Oct. 27.
One of the men asked the store's clerk for change when police said he pulled out a pistol and demanded cash.
Police said the other suspect walked over to the front door and acted as a lookout before both men managed to get away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Authorities said they believe the suspects are about 35 to 40 years old. The first suspect is black, about 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 190 to 220 pounds, police said. He was last seen wearing a black hooded coat, jeans, and a black baseball cap.
The second suspect is described as black, about 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall and weighs about 200 to 220 pounds, police said. He was last seen wearing a black pullover, jeans, and a black baseball cap.
Both suspects are also believed to be involved in similar robberies in north and west Houston, primarily targeting automotive stores, police said.
Anyone with information on the identities of these suspects is urged to contact the Houston Police Department's Robbery Division at 281-405-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
