Pharmacy robber takes medicine, not money

SUGAR LAND, Texas -

A man who robbed a Sugar Land pharmacy wasn't looking for cash -- he wanted prescription medications, detectives said.

Sugar Land police said a man walked up to the pharmacy counter at the Walgreens in the 17300 block of Grand Parkway about 8:10 p.m. on Jan. 15.

The man handed over a note asking for prescription medication, police said. The note indicated that the man had a gun, but he never displayed it, investigators said.

The pharmacist gave the robber prescription medications valued at about $3,000, detectives said.

The robber was described as white with a light complexion, 20 to 25 years old, 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet tall and 160 to 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white shirt with a hood, white and gray basketball shorts, white shoes and white knee-high socks.

Anyone with information is asked to call Sugar Land police at 281-275-2540 or Crime Stoppers at 281-342-TIPS.
