Plane diverted to SA, passenger arrested

SAN ANTONIO -

A Continental Airlines flight originating from Houston was diverted to San Antonio late Tuesday after a passenger became unruly.

Flight 1287 was headed to Ontario, California, when it was diverted to San Antonio International Airport about 7:40 p.m.

An airport spokesman said a passenger wanted to smoke a cigarette onboard.

The passenger was arrested. His name was not released.

The flight continued on to California after the stop.
