Peacocks run loose in neighborhood

HOUSTON -

A group of peacocks is roaming around a northwest Harris County neighborhood, and residents want them to go away.

Chrystal Iley said the peacocks are running around her neighborhood on Fallbrook near North Eldridge Parkway.

"I was like, 'Oh, they're so pretty,'" Iley said. "I went back in the house. Two hours later, when my sister came from work, they were in our yard."

Iley's aunt called the county's livestock services, but when a crew went out to the neighborhood, the peacocks were nowhere to be found.

Residents said the peacocks have been seen on the roofs of some homes and they have stopped traffic.

"There was a bus of preschoolers stopped on the side of the road looking at the peacocks," Ivey said. "They didn't seem to mind."
