PASADENA, Texas -

Pasadena police investigators worked late Wednesday night trying to understand how a 10-month-old boy may have died.

Investigators said they believe the boy was scalded with hot water on his lower body, so badly, that he died.

Police said the baby was injured inside a home on North Memorial Court in Pasadena on Wednesday afternoon. Police said the parents did not call 911.

Instead, the parents drove the little boy to the hospital, said police. Medical workers at the hospital then called police.

Police said the parents refused to talk to investigators, instead telling law enforcement to talk to their attorney. The family's attorney refused to comment to Local 2.

A spokesperson for Child Protective Services said the department is investigating, but could not confirm any history with the family.
