Part of a Houston freeway will be closed this weekend so crews can repair an overhead bridge.
The eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 between Studemont and Interstate 45 will closed at 9 p.m. Friday and reopen at 5 a.m. Monday.
Crews need to repair a section of the Houston Avenue bridge that was damaged when a tall truck hit it on June 1.
The Houston Avenue bridge will be completely closed the entire weekend.
Several eastbound lanes and freeway entrances and exits between Antoine and Studemont will also be closed. A maximum of two lanes will be open.
The connector ramp from the West Loop southbound to Interstate 10 eastbound will be closed, too.
Drivers were encouraged to avoid the area completely. Motorists were advised to use the North Loop and the Southwest Freeway as alternates.
