HOUSTON -

Three former police officers accused of beating a teenage burglary suspect wanted to go on trial somewhere other than Houston, but a judge denied that request on Friday.

Phillip Bryan and Raad Hassan have been charged with official oppression and violating the civil rights of a person in custody. Drew Ryser has been charged with violating the civil rights of a person in custody.

A fourth ex-officer, Andrew Blomberg, was acquitted in May of a misdemeanor charge.

Hassan's trial date has been scheduled for Jan. 28, 2013. Dates for the other two officers have not yet been set.

Judge Reuben Guerro said he thinks enough unbiased jurors can be found in Harris County to try all of the cases.

The four officers were fired and indicted in connection with the alleged beating of then-15-year-old Chad Holley.

Video of the March 2010 incident shows Holley on the ground surrounded by at least five officers. Police appear to kick and hit his head, abdomen and legs.
