A Houston police officer on his way to a chase ended up in a major accident Sunday morning, officials said.

The officer said he was headed to a chase with his lights and sirens on at about 1 a.m. when he approached the intersection of Bissonnet and Beechnut. A pickup truck crossing the intersection was unable to stop in time and the police car hit it, investigators said.

No one was hurt and no one will be ticketed.
