Officer arrested, charged with assault
Officer Cedric Douglas Lincoln, 33, was arrested by deputies
A Houston police officer was arrested Saturday morning and charged with aggravated assault against a family member and aggravated assault.
Officer Cedric Douglas Lincoln, 33, was arrested by deputies with the Precinct 4 Constables Office at the home of his estranged wife.
According to Sergeant Eddie Hazel with the Constable's Office, Lincoln entered his estranged wife's home through the garage between 2:30 and 3 a.m.
Hazel said Lincoln then walked into the bedroom, where his estranged wife and another man were asleep.
Hazel said Lincoln put a gun to his estranged wife and the other man's head and threatened to kill them both. Lincoln then ordered the man to leave the house while he stayed inside with his estranged wife. Hazel said the man ran outside and dialed 911, Hazel said.
According to Hazel, Lincoln was arrested at the home without further incident.
Hazel said Lincoln and his wife separated in May of this year and he had become upset that she was now dating another man. A person who answered the door at the home declined to comment.
HPD officials said Lincoln joined the force in September of 2011 and he has been relieved of duty pending the outcome of an internal affairs investigation. Hazel said Lincoln was not in uniform and off duty at the time of his arrest.
