HOUSTON -

Seven people suspected of trying to break into a north Harris County warehouse have been arrested, but some of them put up a fight.

Harris County sheriff's deputies said the group spent 15 minutes trying to get into a warehouse in the 16700 block of the North Freeway near F.M. 1960 about 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday. That attempt was captured on surveillance video.

Deputies arrived at the scene and quickly took two of the suspects into custody. The other five took off, investigators said.

The five jumped over a fence and hopped into a car, detectives said. A wrecker driver who was also behind the warehouse saw the group and called 911.

The wrecker driver chased the group until deputies and Houston police caught up with them.

"They stayed on the phone with me the whole time," said the wrecker driver. "I was behind them the whole time and HPD got behind them and finished it off."

The chase went down the North Freeway to the East Loop 610 and around to Clinton, where the suspects hit a curb and bailed out of the vehicle. They were all arrested a short time later.

Investigators said the same group may be responsible for breaking into the warehouse twice last month.
