Houston Police released the motive behind a fatal club shooting Wednesday morning that left three dead and two injured, including a rapper.

Police say Coy Thompson, 23, Erica Dotson, 30, and Carlos Dorsey, 31, were killed while leaving the Hottyz gentlemen's club on Westpark Drive in southwest Houston.

Investigators said the bullets were meant for Thompson, who was also known as "Poppa C." Police said he got into a domestic dispute on Father's Day and received threats.

Investigators also determined Poppa C was involved in a similar shooting last November where local rapper, "Money Clip D" was shot.

Police said the other two fatalities were innocent bystanders.

The rapper, Trae Tha Truth, was wounded in the shooting.
