Mother: Bullies choke, spit at son
Anna Villareal-Romo says she will protest at her son's school Friday
A Spring mother is protesting her son's school because of the bullying he has received.
Anna Villareal Romo says when she sends her 10-year-old son Christopher to school she feels like she's sending him off to war.
"He's in a battlefield and there's no supervision", Romo said.
The Spring mother claims her son has been choked and spit on. He attends Smith Elementary School.
Romo says after two years of trying to get the principal and the school district to address her son's bullying allegations, she's had enough and plans to get her message across by protesting outside the school.
Local 2 viewer Lisa Hongsermeier saw KPRC Local 2's coverage Friday morning and felt compelled to help.
She knows all about what Romo is going through, claiming her son went through something similar in another school district when he was younger.
"I'm just a mom and this is my home now, and I want this school to be as good as Twin Creeks was for my son," Hongsermeier said.
Romo told Local 2 she is not taking on this mission alone and that several other parents and students plan to join her in protest.
A Spring ISD spokesperson says Romo's concerns are being addressed at the campus level and will progress to the administrative level if needed.
