As expected, scattered showers and a few heavy downpours dotted the landscape Wednesday. Some people didn't see a drop while others got well over an inch!

The trend will continue for increased rain chances between Thursday and the weekend across the Houston area.

Expect a few scattered showers each morning, especially along the coast, with activity increasing into each afternoon.  Then, by evening, showers and storms should gradually taper off.  Rainfall totals between Thursday and Sunday should be in the 2- to 3-inch range for most people.  While that's a great thing to help keep away, Mother Nature's timing could be better.  Right now most of the weekend is looking questionable for those of you with outdoor plans.
