A mother of seven was found beaten to death under a bridge in Pasadena, and her husband said he blames himself for a decision that he made on New Year's Eve.
Edlyn Villegas Munoz, 36, had drinks with her husband, Camio Zermeno, at Show Palace in the 1400 block of Spencer Highway. Zermeno works as a maintenance man at the strip club.
Zermeno said he had Munoz got into an argument.
"We were there together and she didn't want to leave with me," Zermeno said. "I left her there with her friends."
Zermeno said he headed home, thinking his wife was safe.
"She's always been a very strong-tempered, independent, does what she needs to do kind of woman," he said. "I guess she decided to walk home."
Munoz never made it home. Her body was found under the Vince Bayou Bridge on Queens and South Shaver, about a mile from the strip club, about 11:30 a.m. Sunday.
Pasadena police said Munoz was naked and had been beaten.
"I blame myself. I shouldn't have left," he said.
Munoz had seven children ages 2 to 17. She recently finished her last exam to become a real estate agent.
Anyone with information about Munoz's death is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
