HOUSTON -

Republican Mitt Romney has reason to celebrate as he campaigns in Texas. Romney on Tuesday swept five states holding Republican presidential primaries -- California, New Jersey, South Dakota, New Mexico and Montana.

Romney had fundraisers scheduled Wednesday in San Antonio and Houston. He appeared Tuesday in Dallas and Fort Worth.

Backers said his two-day swing to Texas is expected to boost Romney's presidential campaign by $15 million.

He also wants voters to know his goal of getting America back to work.

"Ours is a land of opportunity. You kill that, you kill America. I see this president today, I don't think he understands the power of free people creating free enterprise -- to listen to people and put them to work. That's what I understand. That's what I'm going to do if I'm president of the United States is get people working again," Romney said.

Romney will be hosting a three-tiered event at the Saint Regis Hotel.

The night began with a private reception at 5:30 p.m. for those who paid a minimum of $10,000. It includes a picture with the candidate.

A general reception at 6 p.m. cost $2,500 per person.

A dinner at 7:30 p.m. includes "a conversation with Gov. Romney." The minimum contribution -- $50,000 or guests can raise $200,000 as a bundler.

The former Massachusetts governor locked up the Republican presidential nomination with his May 29 win in the Texas primary.
