Police in a coastal Texas community say a 16-year-old girl missing for several days has been found dead.
Officials in Aransas Pass say the death of Jenna Hernandez has been determined to be a homicide. Her body was discovered Thursday by a fisherman near a path close to the water.
Police Chief Eric Blanchard says authorities believe the Aransas Pass girl, who was last seen Monday leaving a relative's home, was targeted by someone she knew. An autopsy has been ordered.
Blanchard didn't immediately return a message Friday to provide further details.
Aransas Pass is about 20 miles northeast of Corpus Christi.
