SUGAR LAND, Texas -

Police are searching for a man who robbed a bank inside a Walmart store Wednesday.

Sugar Land police said a man walked up to a teller at the Woodforest Bank inside the Walmart in the 300 block of state Highway 6 about 5 p.m.

Investigators said the man gave the teller a note demanding cash.

The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, officials said.

Police said the man did not display a weapon during the robbery.

The man walked out of the store and left the parking lot in a dark-colored van, police said.

The man was described as black with a light complexion, 30 to 40 years old, about 5 feet 9 inches tall with a medium build and braided hair that fell just below his shoulders. He was last seen wearing a light blue, button-down, long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans, a white hard hat, clear goggles and brown gloves.
