HOUSTON -

A man died in a workplace shooting in northwest Harris County on Friday, detectives said.

Harris County sheriff's deputies said the shooting happened at DuraBuilt Transmission in the 6500 block of Cunningham Road about 8:40 a.m.

Detectives said two employees were "playing around." One of them had a knife and the other had a gun, officials said.

The gun went off and one of the men was shot, officials said. He was rushed to Ben Taub Hospital, where he died. His name has not been released.

Deputies have not said if the deceased man was the one with the gun or the one with the knife.

Investigators have not said why the two men had weapons at work.

The case will be referred to a grand jury.
