Man killed after losing control of his car

HOUSTON -

A man died after he lost control of his SUV and hit a stop sign in west Houston.

The man was not wearing a seat belt and his airbags did not deploy, according to Houston Police. The crash happened around 12:30 a.m. Sunday on Memorial and Beltway 8.

Houston police believe the accident could be the result of a slick road.

After the incident, the intersection of Memorial and the northbound Beltway feeder were shut down for several hours.
