Man hit, killed on freeway

A man was hit and killed after deputies said he was trying to make his way across the freeway.

Around 8 p.m. Friday, investigators said Vinubhai Amin was trying to cross Highway 249 near Breen Drive in Northwest Harris County when he was hit by a Ford F-150.

Investigators said the truck knocked Amin into one of the north-bound lanes of traffic where he was hit by three other vehicles. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Harris County Deputies said Amin was wearing dark-colored clothes, making him difficult for drivers to see at night, and was not walking at a designated cross walk.
