HOUSTON -

A man has been accused of killing another man at a family gathering in southeast Houston.

Melton James Wilson, 26, has been charged with murder.

Houston police said Joe Lee Thompson, 32, was attending a family gathering at Wilson's home in the 5600 Greylog near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard about 6:40 p.m. on Saturday.

Detectives said the men got into an argument and Wilson asked Thompson to leave.

Thompson pushed Wilson around the kitchen and Wilson then went to a bedroom and got a gun, police said.

Wilson shot Thompson multiple times, investigators said. Thompson died at the scene.

Wilson was arrested without incident.
