Investigators said a motorcycle driver crashed into a median in northwest Harris County Thursday night and died.

The accident occurred around 11:15 p.m. on Stuebner Airline and Lyons School Road.

Police said the motorcyclis was traveling southbound on Stuebner Airline when he failed to take the curve correctly.

The man hit the median, which caused the bike to slide across into the northbound lanes, police said.

The driver did not wear a helmet, according to officials.

The 57-year-old rider was transported to Houston Northwest Medical Center, where he died.

Police said they will test to see if alcohol was a factor.
