Man crashes into pizza joint, orders pizza
Elderly Nebraska man's foot got stuck on accelerator
When in Rome? A Nebraska man recently crashed his car into a pizza joint, then ordered a pie for himself.
Just before noon last Wednesday, the elderly man got his foot stuck on the accelerator and drove his car into a Valentino's pizza restaurant in Lincoln, local TV station WOWT reported.
While concerned bystanders called police, the man placed an order for a pizza, Omaha TV station KETV reported.
That may seem a bit strange, but to first responders, it was a good thing.
The pizza order showed the driver was "alert" after the crash, Lincoln Fire and Rescue Battalion Chief Leo Benes told the Lincoln Journal Star.
The driver was taken to the hospital as a precaution. No one in the restaurant was injured.
The real tragedy, perhaps? The man didn't get his pizza before being sent to the hospital.
