Man burned in oil platform fire dies
One of the men critically injured in last week's Gulf oil platform fire died in a Baton Route hospital.
Avelino Tajonera, 49, was badly burned in the explosion and fire on the Black Elk Energy platform on Nov. 16. His remains will be returned to the Philippines for burial.
The fire was sparked while workers used a torch to cut an oil line.
Three others remain hospitalized.
The body of one missing worker was found two days after the blast. The search for the second missing worker was called off.
Black Elk Energy is headquartered in Houston.
