Man beaten to death in southwest Houston

A man was beaten to death at a southwest Houston apartment complex Monday night.

Houston homicide detectives said the killer may be an acquaintance of the victim.

The victim went to the apartment owner's third-story unit at the Ashley Square apartments on Windswept Lane and Greenridge Drive around 11 p.m. The two started fighting and according to witnesses, the fight spilled out onto a breezeway.

The man visiting the apartment was killed.

What started the fight was unclear.

Police said they are questioning one person, but so far no one has been arrested and charged.
