A man was arrested Thursday, accused of robbing a woman in a southwest Houston restaurant.

Houston police said a man snuck into the back office of a Denny's on the Southwest Freeway at South Gessner Road at 3 a.m. When the manager walked in on him, the man pulled a sharp object and demanded her money, officials said.

The man took off on foot, but was found hiding in some nearby bushes by a K-9 unit.

The suspect was identified as Santiago Munoz, 17, police said.

Police said Munoz also burglarized cars at a motel next door to the Denny's.

Investigators said they found several police badges, a weapon and stolen credit cards when Munoz was arrested.

He has five felony warrants for his arrest.

Detectives in Waco said he is a suspect in a rash of home burglaries and a robbery there. Waco police said they arrested him in December, but he managed to escape from a police car.

Munoz told KPRC Local 2 that he was not the robber.

Police said they believe Munoz had an accomplice who got away. Police said surveillance video from the motel next door showed two men breaking into vehicles. The second suspect is still on the loose.
