Houston police are searching for a 47-year-old man who has been accused of exposing himself to a teenage boy in a grocery store restroom.
Court records read the incident happened May 26 at a Fiesta grocery store on North Shepherd.
Jose Najera has been charged with indecency with a child but has not yet been arrested.
Court documents show a 13-year-old boy was shopping with his parents when he stopped to use the restroom.
Investigators wrote that when the teen entered a restroom stall, he noticed someone peering at him through the crack in the stall door. Detectives said when the teen opened the door he was confronted by Najera, who has been accused of pulling down his pants and rubbing his own groin.
Police said the boy ran out of the restroom and told his parents about the incident. Detectives said the parents and Fiesta employees then followed Najera to the parking lot.
Investigators said before Najera left the area, the boy's parents snapped pictures of his face and his license plate with a cellphone camera. Those pictures helped identify Najera.
Court records read Najera confessed to being in the restroom with the teen. It is not clear why Najera was not arrested at the time he was questioned by investigators.
Local 2 tried to speak with Najera at his house in Humble, but no one answered the door.
The family of the boy declined to speak with Local 2 on camera, but said they were happy to learn charges had been filed in this case.
