A Houston man accused of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl and getting her pregnant appeared in court on Thursday.
According to court documents, starting in June 2012 through January 2013, Deandre Davis-Williams, 21, allegedly had sex with the girl almost every day when her mother was at work.
The abuse came to light when school officials called the girl's mother to let her know her daughter was pregnant. The girl recently gave birth, but the gender of the child was not released.
Davis-Williams denied any involvement, but text messages from him regarding the situation were found on the girl's phone, investigators said.
Davis-Williams has been charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child, a felony. In court, the judge increased his bail from $50,000 to $150,000.
If he does make bail, he will have to wear a GPS monitoring device and cannot contact the child or her family.
