A man has been accused of attacking a toddler and biting him.

Darrell Mitchell, 18, has been charged with injury to a child.

Houston police said Mitchell squeezed a 14-month-old boy tightly and pushed him in and out of a running shower on Jan. 28.

Officers went to Mitchell's home and heard him growling, police said.

An officer tried to talk Mitchell out of squeezing the child, but he refused to stop, investigators said.

When the officer used force to take the child away from Mitchell, Mitchell bit the boy's chest, police said.

Mitchell was arrested and the boy was placed in his grandmother's care, detectives said.
