HOUSTON -

METRORail will suspend part of its service on Saturday and Sunday.

Crews need to perform routine switch and track maintenance work on the line between Hermann Park/Rice University and UH Downtown stations.

The shutdown will start on Saturday at 3 a.m. Rail service will resume at midnight on Sunday.

During the shutdown, rail customers will be served by #700 Rail Shuttle route buses running parallel to the rail line, both north and south, between the Hermann Park/Rice University and Preston stations. Buses will not be able to access the UH-Downtown Station due to construction.

Rail service between Fannin South and Hermann Park/Rice University stations will not be affected.

METRO personnel will be available to assist riders.
