LEWISVILLE, Texas -

Police say a North Texas man has been charged in the fatal stabbing of his girlfriend and the wounding of her 16-year-old son.

Lewisville police say 24-year-old Nelson Flores was being held Friday on $2 million bond. He's charged with murder and attempted murder in the attacks Thursday night at an apartment. Police have not released a possible motive.

Officers responded to a 911 call from a bystander about a man and a woman fighting. Officers located 39-year-old Norma Gomez and her son at the scene. Both were transported to a hospital. She later died.

Police say Flores was also hurt and he was captured while seeking medical attention. Investigators are trying to determine whether Flores caused his own injuries.
