HOUSTON -

A Katy ISD high school student has been accused of having child pornography on his iPod, including pictures of fellow female students.

Kyle Trent Boman, 17, was charged with two counts of possession of child pornography.

Court documents said that on Tuesday, two assistant principals with Morton Ranch High School told a Katy ISD police officer that Boman's iPod Touch was confiscated and that they found it contained sexually explicit images.

"The assistant principal took a look at it, recognized two of the underage girls," Assistant Harris County District Attorney Shannon Davis said.

There were more than 3,100 images of nude adults and children on the iPod, including nude, pre-pubescent children in sexually provocative poses, according to the court document.

Boman, an 11th-grade student, was arrested at his home Wednesday night.

Katy ISD officials said they received a tip through the district's Safety Net program on Tuesday. Officials said there is no evidence that any of the pictures were taken on campus.

Classmates said they were surprised by the allegations, but some said Boman had asked for photographs of other girls.

"A couple of my friends told me he asked for their pictures," classmate Jake Kleinman said.

Prosecutors said the investigation isn't over yet.

"We may find more on this particular story regarding the amount and type of child pornography," Davis said. "It's still too early to see how the web has spread."

Boman is being held on a $40,000 bond.
