Do you love watching KPRC Local 2 News but want to be more connected to the reporters, anchors, meteorologists and fellow viewers? Well get ready, because KPRC has just launched a new social TV app that will bring you into the KPRC news conversation like never before.

A social network for television viewers

KPRC has partnered with ConnecTV, a social network for television viewers. The app syncs instantly with the show you're watching and sends you commentary, play-by-play stats, news, information and quotes you can share with friends and followers. Never wonder if your BFF caught the judges' fighting on "The Voice" again.

Using ConnecTV, viewers can invite friends to join them for viewing parties and chat about their favorite shows and sporting events. It connects easily with Twitter and Facebook, organizing and connecting your friends and your favorite shows.

Driving the social media conversation

"Television programming is driving the social media conversation, but those conversations continue to be fragmented across myriad platforms and provide little local context," said Alan Frank, president and CEO of Post-Newsweek Stations. "We see ConnecTV as a way for our communities to come together in a single, standardized digital extension of our broadcast platforms and engage in dialogue around the information and entertainment news most relevant to them."

How to get the app

The ConnecTV app is available for free on any PC browser at www.connectv.com and as a free download for the iPad in iTunes.

iPhone and Android versions will be available in the next few weeks.
