Investigators: Man rapes teen for revenge
Detectives: Charles Andrew Capps harassed girl via Facebook
A man claims he raped a 14-year-old girl to get revenge against her family, investigators said.
Montgomery County Precinct 4 deputy constables said a woman reported in January that her 14-year-old daughter was receiving lewd photographs of a man through Facebook. The man knew the girl's age and sent pictures of his private parts and used a fake name, investigators said.
The mother confronted the man through Facebook, deputy constables said. The man was hostile and suggested she "call Spiderman" for help," officials said.
Deputy constables said they were able to track the man's Facebook account to an Internet protocol address that belongs to a registered sex offender in New Caney. The sex offender was not the person sending the messages, detectives said. Another man used his IP address, officials said.
On Jan. 31, Charles Andrew Capps, 21, went to deputy constables and confessed to sending the photos and messages to the girl, investigators said.
Detectives said Capps also told them he had sex with the teen. Deputy constables said Capps told them that he was angry with the girl's family because one of her relatives allegedly raped one of his relatives about five years ago. Capps said he had sex with the girl to "pay them back," detectives said.
According to deputy constables, Capps said the girl's mother found out he had sex with her daughter and confronted him, which made him angrier. He then created the Facebook page to harass the girl, investigators said.
Capps has been charged with second-degree felony of a child and third-degree felony online solicitation of a minor. He is being held in the Montgomery County Jail with bond set at $180,000.
