Hundreds remember lightning strike victims
2 killed in lightning strike last week
One week after two men were killed by a lightning strike, hundreds of people gathered to remember them.
Jose Romero and Angel Delgado played on the La Escondio Soccer Club.
"I don't have any words to say thank you enough," said Ana Rivera.
Rivera helped organize the soccer team the men played on. She said the cousins were also best friends. They grew up together.
On July 15, the men were at a soccer game when it started to rain. They ran under a tree for shelter. It was struck by lightning, killing both of them.
"Right now, the only thing that consuls us is knowing they are with their family," said Rivera.
It cost close to $8,000 to transport the bodies to Mexico.
Donations have been coming in from the community and fellow players to help with expenses.
