Hundreds lined the outside of the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in downtown San Antonio on Saturday waiting for a chance at stardom.

Auditions for Season 8 of America's Got Talent brought out people of all ages.

"It's exciting," said AGT hopeful Rena Berry as she waited to audition. "But, I'm also scared because I don't know what's gonna happen. It's worth a shot."

Even some Houstonians took their shot, making the quick trip west for the audition.

"I've done it before," said Houstonian Travis Pratt. "I actually did it last year at Reliant Stadium, so I kind of know what they're looking for this time and I think I got it."

From kids dance troupes to rock bands and even some pets, everyone was there waiting their turn for a chance at a big break.

"There are tons and tons of people. There's lines everywhere," said Pratt. "There's people on the floor, people with headphones on and people asleep. You get in the building and you wait even longer."

Eventually, the time did come to perform under the bright lights.

"That's the thrilling part," Pratt said. "That's what you've been working for."
