An Humble man is facing charges after police said he drove a rental pickup truck on railroad tracks.
On Sunday, June 10, police said a train engineer saw a truck that appeared to be stuck on the tracks near the Will Clayton parkway.
When officers arrived, they said the truck was fully engulfed in flames. Police said they saw John Everhart nearby and gave him a fire extinguisher, but it proved insufficient to put out the flames.
Officials said Everhart claimed to have put something under the tires of his truck to help him get free when the truck caught fire.
So far, no word on why Everhart was driving on the tracks. Investigators said they arrested Everhart for criminal trespassing.
