HOUSTON -

Two Houston police officers were taken to a hospital after crashing into each other in northeast Houston.

The crash happened Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. on Weaver and Lockwood.

Investigators said three officers were on their way to a scene, with two in one patrol car. The third followed them in another patrol car.

The first car came to a stop, but the officer behind them did not see it and slammed into the back of the police car, authorities said.

That officer suffered neck injuries and was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital. Another officer in the first patrol car suffered neck and back pain, and was also taken to the hospital. The third officer was not hurt.
