HOUSTON -

A homeowner was shot during a home invasion in northwest Harris County Friday.

Deputies said two men kicked in the front door of a house in the 1300 block of Yucca Mountain at 8 a.m. and confronted Dolan Williams, the homeowner. The robbers fired at least 10 shots at Williams, hitting him in the leg, according to authorities.

The crooks then ran out of the house without taking anything.

Williams was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Officials said he suffered one gunshot wound to his leg

Officials said Williams' wife and 8-month-old baby left the house shortly before the crime occurred.

Detectives said they think the attackers thought the home was empty.

A neighbor said she spotted two strange cars near the house shortly before the home invasion.

"I noticed that there were two vehicles parked in front of my neighbor's house," neighbor Nikita Williams said. "I saw a guy moving inside the Nissan Pathfinder. There was another one across the street."

The family has only lived in the home for about a month.

"I never thought something like that would happen," said James Broussard, Dolan Williams' stepfather.

A neighboring house has surveillance cameras, so deputies hope they may have video of the attackers.
