HOUSTON -

The stepdaughter of Clara Harris is suing the hotel where her father was fatally run over. She's also suing the detective agency that followed him, News2Houston reported Thursday in an exclusive story.

Clara Harris was convicted of murdering her cheating husband, David Harris, by running him over with her Mercedes-Benz on July 24. She was sentenced to 20 years in prison Friday. She was also given the maximum fine of $10,000.

Attorneys for Lindsey Harris filed a lawsuit Thursday, naming Blue Moon Investigations and the Hilton Nasa Clear Lake, Nasa Road 1, in Nassau Bay.

The attorneys said that Blue Moon investigators told Clara Harris where to find David Harris with his mistress the night of his death and that the Hilton did not contact police.

"In conjunction with Clara Harris, their acts contributed (to) or caused the death of David Harris," said John Davis, an attorney for Lindsey Harris.

"Without that information, David Harris would not have been located that evening," said Marty Webber, an attorney for Lindsey Harris.

When she arrived at the Hilton, Clara Harris caused a scene in the lobby, fighting with her husband's mistress before getting in her car and running over David Harris.

"There's no indication that they did call the police. I think they tried to deal with this in-house. They were more concerned, from what we can tell, about the embarrassing situation that was going on in the lobby of their hotel," Davis said.

"They did not specifically have procedures and proper training to train their employees in how to deal with these situations," Webber said.

The owner of Blue Moon Investigations said that they did not do anything wrong.

"The lawsuit against us is baseless. If you're going to hire an investigator and you call for a report, and Clara called us twice for a report, legally, we have to give our client a report," said Bobbi Bacha, with Blue Moon.

Bacha said that she would sue Clara Harris for breach of contract since she should not have gone to the hotel after receiving the report.

Any money made in Lindsey Harris' lawsuits would go towards her pain and anguish.

She has already filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against Clara Harris.
