HOUSTON -

A Harris County District Attorney's Office investigator was honored as the Officer of the Year.

Chuck Lowery was honored by the 100 Club during a luncheon on Wednesday.

The club said Lowery distinguished himself by locating wanted fugitives in several cold cases.

"I have spent almost 35 years in law enforcement and worked with many extraordinary people in my career. I feel l fortunate to serve the residents of Harris County, and I still get excited when I catch a murderer who's been on the run for years. I want to thank DA Lykos and Chief Investigator Don McWilliams for the support, encouragement and resources that allow me to do my job so well," said Lowery.
