A Houston Police patrol car crashed trying to avoid a woman dancing and doing gymnastics on a North Houston freeway.
The accident happened around 11:45 p.m. Monday on the North Freeway's HOV lane at the New Haven exit.
Houston police said a caller spotted the woman acting erratically, moving back and forth, and doing flips off a concrete barrier.
A wrecker driver stopped and tried to get her off the freeway. He parked his tow truck in the far left lane.
When an officer responded to the scene, he had to swerve to avoid hitting the wrecker and the pedestrians, and slammed into a guardrail. The patrol car sustained minor damage. The officer, the woman and the wrecker driver were not injured.
The woman was taken to Ben Taub Psychiatric Hospital for evaluation.
No charges are expected to be filed.
