HFD: Man injured in garage explosion
Fire officials say some sort of vapor had built up, exploded
Fire officials say a man was taken to the hospital after a small explosion occurred in his garage.
The Houston Fire Department said the incident happened around 10 a.m. Saturday at the man's house on Saltillo Street at Mesa Drive in Houston.
Officials said when the man went to his garage located behind his house, some sort of vapor had built up and exploded, giving him second-degree burns on his upper torso and face.
Authorities said the man was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
CenterPoint Energy workers were called out to check for a gas leak, but the cause of the explosion has not been determined.
