SPRING, Texas -

A man has been accused of raping a 14-year-old girl in an elementary school parking lot.

Joshua Alexis Gomez, 25, has been charged with sexual assault of a child.

Harris County sheriff's deputies said the girl and a friend randomly prank called Gomez in January 2011. Gomez and the girl then began talking on the phone regularly, officials said.

The girl sneaked out of her house on Feb. 24, 2011, to meet Gomez, investigators said. Detectives said Gomez drove the girl to Jenkins Elementary, 4615 Reynaldo Drive, in Spring.

Gomez told the girl to get in the back seat of the car and take off some of her clothing, deputies said. She complied because she was scared, detectives said.

Gomez then raped the girl, investigators said. The girl begged him to stop throughout the rape, deputies said.

After the attack, Gomez drove the girl to a fast-food restaurant and then took her home, officials said.

The next day, the girl told a friend of her family what happened, officials said. She then had a medical examination.

Deputies said they spoke to Gomez by telephone and he denied knowing, meeting or raping the girl.

Gomez has not been arrested. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
