HCSO: Identity thief strikes again
Deputies: Suspect stole personal checks, created more fakes
A man suspected of identity theft has struck again, officials with the Harris County Sheriff's Office said.
In October 2011, Crime Stoppers said the man forged counterfeit checks. Authorities said the same man stole a person's personal checks, personal information and banking information. He then used that information to make counterfeit checks and illegal purchases in the Houston area, officials said.
Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS.
Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for any information that leads to the filing of felony charges or arrest of the suspect in this case. All tipsters remain anonymous.
