HCSO: Fake officers carjack driver
Four men who posed as police officers carjacked a man in northwest Harris county on Thursday, investigators said.
Harris County sheriff's deputies said three men, who were in a dark-colored Chevrolet Impala, signaled for a man driving a U-Haul to pull over on West Mount Houston near Lynda Road about 8:40 a.m.
The men, who were armed with guns and a rifle, got out of the car and identified themselves as police officers, investigators said.
The men demanded that the driver put his hands up, officials said. The man stayed in the vehicle because he did not understand what the men were saying as he only speaks Spanish.
A second Chevrolet Impala pulled up and man got out of it and started screaming, in Spanish, for the driver to get out, investigators said.
The driver got out and then one of the attackers got in and drove away, deputies said.
Investigators said they don't know why the driver was targeted. All that was in the truck was produce.
